A friend of mine recently made the following comment on Facebook – “In my day we didn’t need an Elf on the Shelf to behave. We just behaved.” There are so many mixed feelings about The Elf On The Shelf but I want it to be know that our elf isn’t in our home to make my children behave. He’s in our home to make my children laugh. These silly Elf On The Shelf Ideas start our days off with giggles. My boys excitedly run out of their bedroom every morning to see what Chippy has gotten himself into, and the sound of their laughter is the reason why I will continue this fun Christmas tradition!

Creative Elf On The Shelf Ideas – Day Twenty Two
On the twenty second day, we woke up to find our Christmas tree covered in toilet paper! Chippy was sitting on a pile of presents with the toilet paper roll in hand!
Day Twenty Three
Chippy was found hanging out with our reindeer, on the twenty third day. He was trying to feed him a carrot!
Day Twenty Four
My boys absolutely loved finding Chippy in our bathroom, on the twenty fourth day! Our silly elf wrapped our entire toilet in Christmas wrapping paper! He even still had the scotch tape and scissors in hand! Silly elf!
Day Twenty Five
On the twenty fifth day, we found Chippy sitting in a chair built out of Lego Duplos. Chippy had a note for the boys, as well as some elf donuts! He also left them some surprise green milk in the fridge! Chippy’s note read the following: Good morning boys! Enjoy some donuts with me and look in the fridge for a special treat! Only two more days until Christmas! I’m so excited! You’ve both been so good! I’m so proud of you! Keep up the good work. Love, Chippy!
These adorable Elf Donuts were made from Cheerios. The chocolate frosted donuts were Cheerios topped with Nutella. The sprinkled donuts were Cheerios topped with Nutella and dipped in Rainbow Nonpareils. The powdered donuts were Cheerios sprayed with water and dipped in confectioners sugar. These donuts were definitely a huge hit with my boys!
Day Twenty Six – Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve, Chippy gathered together our Christmas Little People set and sat in Santa’s sleigh. He left the following note for the boys:
Caleb & Joshua, It’s Christmas Eve! How exciting! Thank you so much for letting me stay with you this month! I’ve had so much fun! I got to climb your Christmas Tree, swing from the ceiling fan, lift weights with the Hulk, and dress up like Spider-Man! Tonight when you are asleep, I will fly back to the North Pole with Santa. When you wake up in the morning, I will be gone and presents from Santa will be under your tree because I told Santa what good boys you have been. Now, for your last special treat… Before you head to bed, you may each give me a hug and kiss goodbye! Please take turns and no fighting! I will miss you both so much! Remember, be good! I love you! Chippy
The boys were so excited to be able to give Chippy hugs and kisses before going to bed that night. This was our first year with Chippy and I’m so glad we started this fun Christmas Tradition. The boys truly enjoyed it and so did I!
